A programmable thermostat is a sensitive piece of machinery. You count on them to provide perfect comfort for you and your family around the clock, all year long. They automatically adjust the temperature based on the settings you implement. But, sometimes things go wrong. Get in touch with our team to learn more about programmable thermostats.
Settings & Mode Problems
The next thing you may want to check if the programmable thermostat isn’t running properly or won’t stay at the temperature you set, is to check the settings and modes:
- Whichever mode you are trying to use, attempt to use the opposite mode to see if the HVAC system will kick in. So, switch from heating to cooling, or cooling to heating. Also, attempt to use the auto setting after some time to see if it also works. If they do, then you’ve isolated the problem to just one setting.
- There may be a red or “emergency” indicator on your programmable thermostat. Be sure to check your owner’s manual to learn what this indicator might mean.
