Modern, high-tech equipment contains moving parts and is sensitive to the environment. Unfortunately for some customers, we’ve seen major problems with equipment, costing hundreds and sometimes, thousands of dollars. These difficulties are often prevented with regular maintenance checks. And most are less costly with an Extended Service Agreement.

SCHEDULE REGULAR PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE FOR HEATING/COOLING EQUIPMENT
Let us do our best to keep your state-of-the-art heating and cooling equipment purring contentedly for many years. For maximum performance and efficiency, schedule a maintenance check-up and cleaning once a year by H&S Heating and Air Conditioning––A/C in the spring and furnace in the fall. Our service technician can clean and adjust the blower components to provide the proper airflow in the system. Airflow problems can reduce your system’s efficiency up to 15%, according to energystar.gov. Here’s a complete checklist of those items that can be checked, cleaned, measured, and inspected.
Clean burners.
Clean the burner compartment.
Clean the blower motor compartment and wheel.
Clean safeties.
Clean the ignition assembly.
Check the pressure hoses.
Clean / check condensate and hoses.
Check the gas pressure.
Inspect the heat exchanger with a camera.
Clean the indoor A/C coil.
Test refrigerant levels.
Check the contactor and capacitors.
Check the furnace filter and change, if needed.
Visually inspect ductwork.
Lubricate motors, if needed.
Check thermostat operations.
Test the equipment’s efficacy.

HANDLE REGULAR HEATING AND COOLING PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE
If you’re handy with equipment, you can help maintain your systems throughout the year.
- Change the furnace’s air filter every 30 days. Call us for your filter needs, or stop by the shop.
- Clean your Heat Recovery Ventilator (HRV) of dust, pet dander and hair, carpet fibers, etc., every two to three months. The unit must be unplugged and shut down every three months by you, or it will shut itself down.
- Change your humidifier pad. Perform regular, routine maintenance by checking the pad monthly and changing it when it’s gummed up.

PURCHASE AN EXTENDED SERVICE AGREEMENT
Most heating and cooling equipment manufacturers provide a 5-year warranty on parts. (Certain limitations apply.) The Extended Service Agreement Ruud offers covers only Ruud new equipment––furnaces, A/C, heat pumps––installed by H&S Heating and Air Conditioning. These are covered for up to 10 years for mechanical component failure, parts, and labor. (Certain limitations apply.) Questions? Give us a call.
